Deon Entwisle (BMus, GradDipEd, MTeach)

Based in Melbourne, Deon is an active performer and passionate music educator. She has completed a Bachelor of Music (Performance) in both harp and piano under Julie Raines and Igor Machlak, along with a Master of Teaching from the University of Melbourne. Deon is also a level 2 accredited Kodály teacher with the Kodály Music Institute of Australia.

Deon is regularly engaged for concert performances, weddings and events. She has also premiered and recorded solo and orchestral Australian works for the harp. Deon is part of the Victorian College of the Arts and Melbourne Conservatorium Artists Booking Service, her audiences have included the Cirque de Soleil and dignitaries of state. Deon particularly enjoys performing solo and chamber music. Her versatile playing covers a variety of musical genres including classical, folk and popular music. 

Besides being an active performer, Deon is committed as an educator. She currently teaches at Trinity Grammar School and Genazzano FCJ College, and 
has been a Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) music assessor. She has published a research paper about instrumental music education and a lesson book featuring exercises and original compositions. Deon has also taught children with disabilities and volunteered her time to music therapy programs.
