Deon Entwisle (BMus, GradDipEd, MTeach)

Based in Melbourne, Deon is an active performer and passionate music educator. She has completed a Bachelor of Music (Performance) in both harp and piano, along with a Master of Teaching from the University of Melbourne. Deon is also a level 2 accredited Kodály teacher with the Kodály Music Institute of Australia.

Deon performs actively and is regularly engaged for concert performances and events. She particularly enjoys performing solo and chamber music. Her versatile playing covers a variety of musical genres including classical, contemporary, folk and popular music.

Besides performing, Deon is committed as an educator. She currently teaches at Trinity Grammar School and Genazzano FCJ College, and is a Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority music assessor. Deon is also a member of the University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education's Advisory Committee. She has published a research paper about instrumental music education and a lesson book featuring exercises and original compositions. Deon has also taught children with disabilities and volunteered her time to music therapy programs.

In her free time, Deon enjoys travelling, hiking, baking, gardening and walking her dog Milo.
